U.S. Army Captain "Black Hawk Down" Jeff Struecker Keynote Speaker

U.S. Army Captain Jeff Struecker is a decorated military veteran who played a prominent role in the blood-chilling rescue effort in Mogadishu, Somalia, East Africa that rescued downed helicopter crewmen and secured the capture of genocidal warlord, Mohamed Farrah Aidid.  This dangerous 1993 rescue mission was later portrayed in the national best-seller book and movie, “Black Hawk Down.”

In the streets of Mogadishu, Struecker faced his greatest fears.  He was forced to rely on his skills and deep faith to bring him through some of the most intense combat the U.S. Military had seen since the Vietnam War.

His combat experience includes Operation Just Cause in Panama, Operation Iris Gold in Kuwait; Operation Gothic Serpent, in Mogadishu, Somalia; Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He has received numerous awards.

Commissioned in 2000 and now serving as an Army Chaplain, Jeff has been married to his wife Dawn for fifteen years.  They have five children: Aaron, Jacob, Joseph, Abagail and Lydia.
